We're on to the next step! It's time to apply to USCIS (immigration) to get approval to bring a child home from China! This involves sending an application to USCIS along with a fee and waiting for them to send us a letter stating that we have an appointment to be fingerprinted at the Milwaukee USCIS office at a designated day and time.
After that, there will be background checks and hopefully, approval from USCIS to bring a child into the United States.
This step can take anywhere from 2-6 months. All applications are now being processed through one location, rather than the state locations as in our first adoption. This has created a backlog of applications.
Please pray that our application moves quickly through the process. We are trusting that the Lord is in control and that he will cause this all to happen and bring our child home at the right time - His time.
